2. God came up with the idea of multiplication.

If you give him your time, he multiplies it. If you give him your money, he multiplies it. If you give him your talent, he multiplies it. If you give him your energy, guess what? He multiplies it.

 It’s the same principle as planting seeds. 2 Corinthians 9:10 (GW) says, “God gives seed to the farmer …” Farmers know that seed must be given away for it to increase. If you keep seed in a sack, it doesn’t do any good. But when you plant it, it multiplies. When you plant one corn seed, do you just get one corn seed back? No, you get a stalk with hundreds of corn kernels. When you plant one watermelon seed, do you only get one seed back? No, you get a bunch of watermelons with hundreds of seeds in them. God multiplies whatever little bit you give him.

So are you ready to see multiplication in your life…

Then give your seed and see your life become an adventure before your eyes.

Remember you don’t have to do much but you have to do something for God to move in your life.  Create some space for God by giving to God.

During the campaign we are memorizing scripture so that we build our faith and have weapons to fight the good fight of faith.  Here is the next scripture to seal in your spiritual vault.

Many of you have heard that my father-in-law was in a accident last Thursday in NW Arkansas.  Wanted to give an update on his condition.  He is doing really well and God has performed a miracle for our family.  What was spoken on Thursday of last week, which were words like “he may not make it” and “this is life or death”  has been replaced with words like “can he go home at the end of the week” and other life words.  God is so faithful to perform His word over our lives.

Our entire family thanks you for your many prayers and txt messages.  We are just sayin - Thank you Jesus for your miracle power over David. 

Can’t wait to give a testimony at The City Church.  I might have to wait and let amy testify first.  What do you think?

As you know, I have asked that each of us, starting with my own family, give the most significant financial gift over the next 120 days that you can to the work of God. Remember, your Revolutionize commitment is a 120 day giving commitment over and above your regular tithes and missions giving.

Here are 10 benchmarks that you can use to navigate your giving journey in helping to equip and tool ministries at The City Church.

1. Revelation rather than reason be your guide.

People that give by reason do the following: They look at what they have, figure out what is “reasonable” and commit that amount. It takes no faith to give by reason. Reason simply asks, “What can I afford?”

On the other hand, people that give by revelation do this: They start the process by going directly to the Lord and praying, “Lord, what do you want to give through me?” This kind of giving requires faith. Hebrews 11:6 says, “Without faith, it is impossible to please God.” Then once you have settled on the amount God puts in your heart, ask Him to guide you in the steps you should take in being able to fulfill that offering.

If you give only out of reason then it requires no faith to give.  However, if you give out of revelation then you please God and not the other way around.

Love God - Love Others - Serve All

I have been waiting for this one for a while now.  Looking forward to when it would open.  Hoping that day would come sooner rather than later.  It is here and it is GOOD!!!!!!!

During our Revolutionize campaign I challenged everyone to memorize scripture.  This is a lost art among followers of Jesus.  How do I live each day winning in my everyday dilemmas?  By building my faith through reading God’s word, (get your daily scripture reading at the NT passage button) and by meditating and memorizing scripture.  So here is the first passage we are memorizing together. 

Matthew 28:18-20

So go look it up!  Start memorizing the core mission of each person that loves Jesus.  This is what we are suppose to be doing and when a church is not living this out that church will die!  My favorite word is GO in this passage.  My second favorite word is ALWAYS.  As I GO He will ALWAYS be with me.  If you are not living this verse out then I pray you memorize and start asking God to give you power to GO and make disciples because HE will be with you always.

This morning I was reflecting on how good God is and how He in the very beginning of mankind established a specific place where He would meet with His people.  Each day we are continually setting times to meet people throughout our week.  Just wondering have you set a time and place to meet with Jesus which is the only meeting that really matters. 

In the Bible we find that God’s meeting place is much more a spiritual place than a physical one. 

Exodus 29:42  “For the generations to come this burnt offering is to be made regularly at the entrance to the Tent of meeting before the Lord.  There I will meet you and speak to you; there also I will meet with the Israelites, and the place will be consecrated by My glory.”

God was giving instruction concerning the specific offerings that were to take place daily on the altar of burnt offering.  But we see a very clear principle.  God is speaking to His people about the specific place of His visitation, the place of Him speaking to us and meeting with us.  It’s really clear -  the place of His visitation is the place of sacrificial offerings. 

Later God says to “take from among you an offering to the Lord.  whoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it as an offering to the Lord…”  Exodus 35:5

Really, God could have just performed a miracle and been done.  But He wanted His people to willingly bring what was needed.  He wanted them to experience His visitation, as they gave sacrificially to the work of the Lord.  The same principle applies to us today.  As we give sacrificially and willingly to the building of His work right here and right now, we too will experience the glory of HIS visitation!

Couple of observations about our volunteers this week:

Best attitude in the world - I have not heard of or seen one bad attitude at all.  Everyone is over the top giddy about what GOD is doing.

We can do it spirit -  even when something takes longer and seems impossible our volunteers have that we can do motto going.

They got skill -  some of the best skilled folks I have ever seen.  Seriously when you get the right people doing the right thing at the right time - success!!!!!

They get Nehimiah Three -  working next to each other.

We are tired, but determined -  I don’t even have to comment. 

Amy my wife has some mad painting skills that I didn’t know she had.  Every night she is a painting machine.  Also, she can swing a sledge hammer like nobody I’ve ever seen.  I think it was therapeutic to her soul.

Last but not least -  you gotta be here Sunday!  Don’t come alone but bring someone with you.  You have to be here for the first Sunday in the updated sanctuary.  I am praying for the first person to receive Jesus in the updated sanctuary.  I am praying for the first person to receive their miracle.  I am praying for the first person to worship God with passion.  Looking for the first person to get here Sunday.

We have a long way to go this week to be ready for Sunday services so I need you to pray!!!!!!

Uh, we have without a doubt the best volunteers in the world!!!!!  I will put the folks that are building out our stage, painting, extending our media area, electrical and every other change we are doing up against any volunteers anywhere, any time and any place.  They rock!!!!!
